During the last week of January, our community had the joy of welcoming Fr. Juan Gabriel Martínez Landaverde, priest of the Diocese of Santa Ana in El Salvador, former seminarian of the Colegio Sedes Sapientiae, and currently Assistant Professor of Biblical Theology at the University of Navarra. His return to Sedes was a moment of gratitude and fraternity, recalling the years he spent in Rome for his formation at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross and the lasting impact those years had on his vocation.
In a spirit of simplicity and closeness, Fr. Gabriel shared aspects of his pastoral and academic journey, shaped by his service to young people, children, and families in his home diocese. He also reflected on how his time in Rome — near the Holy Father and immersed in the universality of the Church — continues to nourish both his priestly ministry and his work as a biblical theologian.
On January 31, 2026, before returning to Pamplona, Fr. Gabriel had the great joy of celebrating Holy Mass at the College. This Eucharist, lived in gratitude and deep communion, offered the seminarians a living example of how a vocation matures over time in fidelity and generosity. His visit left in our hearts the image of a joyful priest, grateful for his formation, and fully dedicated to serving the Church in both pastoral and academic life.
