“Ut omnes unum sint”

On Monday, April 23, we had the pleasure of hosting in our College the Portuguese priest, Fr Silvestre Marques, postulator of the cause of the beatification of Chiara Lubich accompanied by the Dutch Dr. Waldery Hilgeman who, besides being vice-postulator of the same cause, is also involved in other cases including that concerning Cardinal François-Xavier Nguyễn Văn Thuận. After having shared lunch with us, they stopped for a fraternal meeting with the community of the College during which they presented to us the figure of Chiara Lubich; founder of the Focolare Movement. They told us several salient moments of her intense life lived for Christ. The knowledge of her life will enable us to better appreciate the fundamental aspects of the Focolare Movement forged and inspired by the verse “ut omnes unum sint” taken from the Gospel according to Saint John (Jn. 17:21).

We thank God for giving us this opportunity to learn more about the figure of Chiara Lubich and we also thank our guests for their availability, hoping that they will be able to present other figures of saints who will help us in our formation.
