1st of May 2019 doubled as the solemnity of St. Joseph the worker and the very beginning of the Rosary month. On that very day, we and the Church as a whole were blessed with three new Deacons; Rev. Frank John Gilagiza (the Diocese of Kigoma, Tanzania), Rev. Deogratias Method Nyamwihula (the Archdiocese of Mwanza, Tanzania), Rev. Atta Okyere Samuel (the Archdiocese of Kumasi, Ghana)
The celebration started at exactly 10:00 am at the St. Apollinare basilica, Rome. The noble simplicity of the Eucharistic celebration and the active participation of the many Religious and Lay faithful was very encouraging. His Grace Most Rev. Protase Rugambwa (Secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples) presided over the Mass whiles our Rector together with a host of many other priests from different parts of the world concelebrated.
A buffet proceeded right after the ordination in our College, where different delicacies were served to our delight. Then after, we descended to our Great Hall to feast with our new Deacons and their immediate families and benefactors who came to celebrate with us.
We are very much grateful the Lord for the many blessings on us as a College and a family. May the Lord continue to lead and guide our New Deacons as our Mother Mary prays for them.
