The first Sedes Guest

An important part of the College's programme of cultural activities for this academic year is the Sedes Guest, which consists of welcoming a guest of prestige in his or her field of activity to share his or her experience with us.

The first of these meetings took place on Wednesday, October 16, when we hosted Veronica Brunkow on the theme “Digital can open the heart.” Veronica is a consecrated member of the Regnum Christi Society of Apostolic Life since 2000, and has a background in youth ministry and digital evangelization. She has collaborated with the “Regnum Christi” movement in Brazil and Mexico and is involved in digital evangelism since 2018. With a strong academic background in Education, Family Sciences, and Missiology, she is currently a collaborator with the Dicastery for Communication and a member of “The Church Listens to You” initiative, which aims to engage people through digital platforms.

During the meeting, Veronica highlighted the growing importance of the digital sphere in the Church's evangelizing mission. She emphasized that digital evangelization complements, but does not replace, traditional pastoral work. Not everyone is called to be a digital evangelist, but this apostolate is a crucial response to the Gospel’s call to reach everyone, particularly those who are distant from faith.

Drawing from her experiences in Mexico, Colombia, and Brazil, she demonstrated how social media can foster fraternity and conversions. The event concluded with a moment of questions and fraternal agape, along with the presentation of a gift and photos to commemorate the day. Veronica’s insights provided valuable perspectives for the ongoing Digital Synod and its potential to shape digital pastoral care in the Church.
