In the presence of the Apostolic Nuncio to Nigeria, Most Rev Antonio Guido Filipazzi, the Archbishop of Onitsha, Most Rev Valerian Maduka Okeke, priests, deacons, religious, seminarians and the lay faithful of the Archdiocese of Onitsha, our brother Francis Chikwado Onwuchulum received the order of deacon at the basilica of the Most Holy Trinity Onitsha, Nigeria. Francis was ordained by the Nuncio. The ordination saw a mass attendance of the faithful ranging from the family, friends and well-wishers as they gathered to join him in prayer and thanksgiving to God. It was precisely on the 2nd of April being Easter Monday with a solemn mass that started by 10am.
Rev Francis Chikwado Onwuchulum is a deacon of the Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha, Nigeria. His journey to the priesthood started so many years ago from the minor seminary in Nigeria. His formation later culminated to his arrival to our college in 2014 for his theological studies and formation which lasted till 2017 when he graduated and returned to his home Archdiocese, Onitsha.
The Archdiocese in a special way thanked the Nuncio for honouring the invitation and performing this Sacred function of the ordination of Francis. And we join our hearts to that of the families, friends, well-wishers and the entire family of the Archdiocese in wishing our brother a fruitful diaconate as we wait for his priestly ordination with joy.
