The 2018/2019 year of formation begun in the College at the beginning of September. It was preceded by a group of new seminarians who, since August, began the fundamental Italian course. Most of us, the continuing seminarians also arrived in Rome early for the yearly "practical course of pastoral care and liturgy" in the month of September.
As you might have read already in previous post, the new year of the seminary was officially begun with a Mass on Tuesday, September 4 as presided by S.E. Mons. Gianrico Ruzza, auxiliary bishop of the Vicariate of Rome.
Afterwards, various lessons of pedagogy of Catechesis to sacred oratory proceeded, but each week was enriched by some special guests. In the first week, we had the pleasure of meeting the secretary of the Congregation for Oriental Churches, S.E. Mons. Ciril Vasil 'S.J. who enriched our knowledge of the Eastern Catholic Churches.
We also had the opportunity to meet Professor Mariolina Ceriotti Migliarese, who spoke to us about the difference between the masculine and the feminine. By virtue of her rich experience as a child neuropsychiatrist, she helped us to discover some characteristic aspects of the female personality.
Finding ourselves in a city like Rome, a city so rich in artistic treasures, we couldn’t afford to miss a guided tour to experience some of these treasures. So on Wednesday 5, led by Sister Agnes of the Missionaries of the Divine Revelation, we went to visit St. Giovanni in Laterano where we were specially prayed for the Holy Father, Pope Francis in these difficult times.
To close the first week on Friday 7 September, we celebrated Mass in the Prelatic Church of Opus Dei, where we necessarily entrusted ourselves to the intercession of St. Josemaria Escrivá who desired our College, and his successor, the Blessed Álvaro del Portillo who materialized the desire.
