Te Deum laudamus

The last day of the year is always very special. But spending it for the first time in Rome, with the Jubilee having just begun and having the opportunity to participate in the Te Deum of thanksgiving very close to the Pope, is not only special but frankly quite exceptional and unique.

This is what happened to nine seminarians from Sedes Sapientiae, who had the opportunity to be present at the Te Deum as part of the liturgical service of the Holy Father. The beautiful ceremony in such an imposing setting as St. Peter's Basilica was crowned with the opportunity to personally greet Pope Francis.

It was undoubtedly an excellent way to bid farewell to the year 2024 and to greet the year 2025, inspired by the words that the Pope pronounced during his homily at the Te Deum:  “Is the hope of a fraternal humanity just a rhetorical slogan or does it have a ‘rocky’ foundation on which to build something stable and lasting? The answer is given to us by the Blessed Mother of God showing us Jesus. The hope for a fraternal world is not an ideology, it is not an economic system, it is not technological progress. The hope for a fraternal world is Him, the incarnate Son, sent by the Father so that we can all become what we are, that is, children of the Father who is in heaven, and therefore brothers and sisters among us (...). May our Blessed Mother help us to walk together, as pilgrims of hope, on the path of fraternity. May the Lord bless us, all of us; forgive us our sins and give us the strength to go forward on our pilgrimage in the coming year”.
