Seventeen New Candidates For Holy Orders

On 9th December 2018, a day after the feast of the Immaculate Conception, the Prelate of the prelature of Opus Dei, S. E. Msgr. Fernando Ocariz admitted seventeen seminarians of our college as candidates to the Holy Priesthood of the Catholic Church.

Aside the graceful presence of the Prelate, the day was brightened by the many Priests, Religious, and Lay faithful who came to celebrate with us at the Sedes Sapientiae chapel. In his homily, the Prelate rightly said the journey into holy orders seems far but time flies, which imply the candidates are to leave no stone unturned to be formed into holy priests. He encouraged that formation shouldn’t be minimized to the intellectual block only, but as a whole, perceive the end of becoming alter Christus. This he says can highly be facilitated by cultivating the virtues of obedience and sincerity with a cling to hope. As always he advised that we develop filial love for the Holy Father and unceasingly pray for him in his mission as the Vicar of Christ.

As we humbly entrust our brothers into the maternal heart of the ever blessed Virgin Mary, we pray also the Lord to guide their steps according to his infinite goodness.
