Serving and listening to Christ

On Wednesday 14 October we had the opportunity to listen to the wonderful hymns and solemn prayers of the Syro-Malabar rite, when two of our seminarian brothers, Jeril Jose and Joel Sojan, were ordained as sub-deacons by H.E. Mar Stephen Chirappanath, Apostolic Visitor of the Syrian-Malabar Catholic Church in Europe.

In his homily, Archbishop Stephen reminded us that we must always enkindle our hearts with a growing love for God and his people. He also told us that there will be moments of difficulty, uncertainty and doubt on our path to the priesthood, but we must always remember that the One who called us, Jesus Christ, is always at our side when we respond to His call and wish to be configured in Him, serving Him and listening to Him with all our hearts.

We thank the Lord for this wonderful opportunity to have known more closely the Syro-Malabar rite, which manifests the beauty of His universal Church. And we continue to pray for priestly vocations throughout the world.
