Sedes Guest with Daniel Ibañez

On January 23, 2026, our community welcomed Daniel Ibañez for a new Sedes Guest encounter. A Spanish photojournalist and one of the youngest permanently accredited professionals at the Holy See, he serves as an official photographer for EWTN and ACI Prensa. With clarity and passion, he shared how his vocation as a photographer has become a way of narrating the life of the Church from within.

He spoke about the privilege of capturing the humanity and spontaneity of Pope Francis, including unforgettable moments such as the Holy Father praying alone in an empty St. Peter’s Basilica during the pandemic. His testimony revealed how photography, when lived as a mission, can illuminate the beauty, vulnerability, and hope present in the heart of the Church.
