Closing October with a flourish, we had the opportunity to make a pilgrimage to Assisi, a city known worldwide for being the cradle of saints and the place where other blessed await the resurrection.
The first stop was the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels, a temple that was built to guard the Porziuncola and the transit room of St. Francis. Together we visited the basilica of the Saint, where we venerated his remains and honored his memory.
Before going to the Basilica of St. Clare, where his incorrupt body remains very close to the crucifix that ordered St. Francis to 'rebuild the Church', we went for the first time as a College to pray before Blessed Carlo Acutis. The young Blessed, who rests in the Parish of St. Mary Major, was buried in Assisi since in his lifetime he expressed the wish that it should be so.
Undoubtedly all of you, friends of Sedes Sapientiae, were present in our minds and hearts as we prayed for the intercession of the saints.
