From 18 December to 6 January, the seminarians were assigned to various parishes and retirement homes across different dioceses, both within Italy and abroad. This period marked a significant moment of pastoral formation, as they were immersed in parish life and entrusted with active roles in ministry. By living and working closely with local clergy and parish communities, the seminarians were able to observe and participate in the daily pastoral responsibilities of the Church.
In the retirement homes, the seminarians offered a meaningful presence through attentive listening, companionship, prayer, and participation in liturgical moments, especially with the elderly. This service fostered a deeper sense of compassion and pastoral sensitivity, helping the seminarians to recognize the dignity and spiritual needs of older persons.
During the Christmas and New Year celebrations, the seminarians took part in various pastoral and liturgical activities, including parish initiatives and community events. These experiences offered valuable practical formation, enabling them to serve diverse communities while deepening their spiritual life. Additionally, exposure to different cultural and pastoral contexts enriched their understanding of the universal nature of the Church and strengthened their sense of vocation and pastoral responsibility.
