There is a saying: "Every saint passes through Rome"; and we could add: "And every bishop is welcomed with open arms at the Sedes Sapientiae". This time it was especially true, as our College was blessed with the visit of H.E. Msgr. Rogelio Cabrera López, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Monterrey (Nuevo León, Mexico) and President of the Mexican Episcopal Conference. A seminarian from his archdiocese is being trained in our seminary.
It was on Monday 31 October that we had the joy of welcoming Mgr. Rogelio. He had lunch with the formation community and then had a talk with all the seminarians in Italian. It was very entertaining and enjoyable. Among other things, he encouraged us to continue to strive to work on our formation, with heart, mind and soul. He also described some of the current challenges facing the Church in Latin America and answered several questions from the seminarians about the pastoral reality in that part of the world.
