Monday 25th March, Solemnity of the Annunciation, in the Basilica of Saint Apollinare, during the Holy Mass presided over by S.E. Mons. Giovanni Pietro Dal Toso, president of the Pontifical Missionary Works and Assistant Secretary of the Congregation of the Evangelization of Peoples, 19 seminarians of this College were instituted readers. Candidates from 11 countries (Croatia, India, Mexico, Italy, Ghana, Brazil, Venezuela, South Africa, Guatemala, El Salvador and Nigeria), they have approached one by one to the bishop who handed the book of Sacred Scripture by saying: "Receive the book of the holy scriptures and faithfully transmit the Word of God for growth and fruit-bearing in the hearts of men". To transmit faithfully the Word of God means to incarnation in a way of life that is always more consistent with that of Jesus, the Word of God made visible and audible for his incarnation as the bishop reminded us in his homily.
After Holy Mass, we had a brief moment of sharing in the adjacent courtyard of the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross, where refreshment was offered that we could share together with the many friends, relatives and benefactors who participated in the celebration.
We thank Mons. Giovanni Pietro Dal Toso, who after the celebration has also stop at dinner in our College, to share with us the joy for having new readers. We thank the Lord and renew our reliance on him that we may be more and more seminarians according to His will.
