Sunday, December 1st marked the beginning of Advent season, but for our community a second reason of joy was added, during the Sunday Eucharistic celebration, our Venezuelan companion Gabriel Aldana was ordained deacon.
At 11:30 a.m. the solemn celebration began in the Basilica of St Apollinare presided over by Mons. Mario del Valle Moronta, bishop of the Venezuelan diocese of San Cristóbal, which is the diocese of Gabriel himself. Together with the bishop, many priests concelebrated, including Rev. Prof. Luis Navarro, Rector of the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross.
There were numerous friends of Gabriel who accompanied him in this moment, we remember in particular the numerous delegation of the faithful of the parish of Cavriago (RE) who, led by their parish priest Fr. Claudio Gonzaga, did not miss the opportunity to be close to Gabriel who for years spends his vacation time engaging in pastoral activities in that parish. All we have to do is thank the Lord and wish Gabriel a fruitful deaconate ministry! Best wishes deacon!
