As the peak of the summer season arrives with most of our seminarians doing their pastoral work in various parts of Italy, news from across the world continues to reach us here in the college regarding the diaconal and priestly ordination of some of the alumni. For this month we have six ordinations in the America, Asia and in Africa from five different dioceses.
On the memorial of St. Maximilian Kolbe and hours before the first vespers of the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into heaven, three alumni received the diaconal ordination while an alumnus received the priestly ordination. In the Diocese of San Felipe in Venezuela, Rubén Rodríguez Tovar was ordained deacon. He finished his seminary formation in this college in 2020. Two alumni from Africa who recently concluded their theological studies also received the diaconal ordination. Jorge Domingos was ordained deacon in the Archdiocese of Luanda, in Angola, and Patrick Anasenchor also received the ordination to the diaconate in Ghana, in the Archdiocese of Tamale. From the same archdiocese Rev. Anthony Bebe Guo received the priestly ordination in the OLA Cathedral with the Most Rev. Philip Naameh as the ordaining bishop .
In Mexico, in the Diocese of Ciudad Victoria in the state of Tamaulipas, Rev. Rodrigo Eduardo Avitua Carrizal was ordained priest on the 21st of August through the imposition of the hands of the Most Rev. Oscar Efraín Tamez Villareal, the Auxilliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Monterrey. The Rev. Joel Sojan for the Diocese of Palai entered the order of presbyters in India on August 26.
May the Lord of the harvest continue to send laborers into his vineyard!
