On the evening of December 24, 2024, the first-year seminarians of our College participated in a historic and deeply spiritual event: the opening of the Holy Door of Saint Peter's Basilica by Pope Francis, marking the official beginning of the 2025 Jubilee Year of Hope.
The Holy Door, a powerful symbol of grace and conversion, invites all who pass through it to walk in holiness of life. As the Jubilee hymn echoed through the Basilica, representatives of the People of God including seminarians, clergy, and lay faithful crossed the threshold, symbolizing the unity and hope that the Jubilee inspires. This act served as a prelude to the countless pilgrims from around the world who will follow in their footsteps to celebrate the mysteries of salvation throughout the Holy Year.
The Ordinary Jubilee Year will conclude on January 6, 2026, the Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord, with the closing of the same Holy Door. For the seminarians, participating in this moment of spiritual significance was both a profound privilege and a reminder of the universal call to holiness in Christ.
