It is always a nostalgic feeling returning to one’s alma mater, where one received formation be it academic or otherwise. In the same way, it is also a feeling of joy and fulfillment for the alma mater who receives her alumnus. This was exactly the situation when Fr. Francis Chikwado Onwuchulum visited his former college on Thursday, 7th of September, 2023. Fr. Francis, a priest of the Archdiocese of Onitsha, Nigeria, was an alumnus of our college from the year 2014 to 2017, with don Julio Diéguez as the then Rector and with don Vito Reale, as his formator.
During his years in our college, Fr. Francis was particularly known for flare for languages and for his love for football. During his visit, he had lunch with us and during the normal afternoon tertulia, shared his experience both during his stay in our college and currently as a priest in Nigeria. Particularly, he expressed his joy returning to the college and recounted how the experience he gathered during his stay here in Rome, has helped him a lot in his apostolate. Currently, Fr. Francis is the manager of the Mater Amabilis Girls’ Secondary School, Umuoji, a mission school belonging to the Archdiocese of Onitsha.
