Monthly retreat, the experience of interiority and community life

On Saturday, 21 February 2026, the monthly retreat of College Sedes Sapientiae took place, led by Fr. Kolawole Chabi, O.S.A. The day of prayer and reflection offered participants a valuable opportunity to deepen their personal spiritual journey in the light of the Augustinian tradition, in an atmosphere of recollection and fraternity.

At the heart of the preaching were the themes of interiority and ecclesial life in Saint Augustine of Hippo. The preacher highlighted how, according to the Bishop of Hippo, returning to one’s own heart is the path to encountering God and, at the same time, to rediscovering the communal dimension of faith. Interiority, far from being individualistic withdrawal, opens itself to ecclesial communion, where the personal search for God finds fulfillment in the life of the Church and in service to others. We sincerely thank Fr. Kolawole for encouraging us, through his profound and timely preaching, to seek God where we sometimes forget to look for Him because of the busyness of life — that is, in our own hearts.
