12 October 2022 was a memorable day for the diocese of San Cristóbal (Venezuela) as it celebrated its centenary. More than 10,000 people attended the celebration in the gymnasium of the World Champions 97, located in Pueblo Nuevo, San Cristóbal.
Naturally, the students of Sedes Sapientiae who come from this diocese followed the celebrations very closely, united in their heartfelt prayers to the bishop, Mgr Mario del Valle Moronta and his auxiliary Mgr Alberto Ayala, as well as to the whole diocesan presbytery and all the faithful. In addition, to commemorate this anniversary in the best possible way, a Mass was celebrated on 12 October in the chapel of San Pascual Baylón. The rector of Sedes Sapientiae, Fr Javier Canosa, presided and some priests from San Cristóbal who are in Rome for study or work concelebrated. The seminarians participated in the Mass and took part in the liturgical service. It was a good way of thanking the Lord, united in prayer during the Eucharist, for these first one hundred years of pastoral work in San Cristóbal.
