“Here I am, Lord: I come…”

On March 25, we celebrated a very important feast of the Church: the Solemnity of the Annunciation, so dear to all of us Christians. But this was not the only joy of that day… Sixteen seminarians from our College took a further step in their vocational journey by receiving the ministry of lector. Through this, they committed themselves to be attentive listeners to the Word of God and zealous proclaimers of it.
To make our joy even greater, the Holy Mass — during which the rite of lectorate took place — was presided over by His Eminence Cardinal Baldassare Reina, Vicar of the Holy Father Leo XIV for the Diocese of Rome.
It was truly a Solemnity of the Annunciation that many of us will never forget. We thank His Eminence for his closeness and availability, but above all we give thanks to God for this gift granted to our brothers. We entrust them to our prayers and to the intercession of our Mother Mary, so that each day of their lives they may say with faith:
“Here I am, Lord: I come…”
