The Annual September Course for the New Academic/Formation Year which commenced on the 4th of September, 2018 has finally come to an end. We want to share with you some highlights of the final week.
Among the resourceful speakers in the last week, we were fortunate to share an audience with professor Linda Ghisoni on Tuesday 25th September, who treated the topic “The Vocation of the Laity, Key to the New Evangelization”. Professor Ghisoni, who teaches Canon Law in Gregorian University and had worked in Apostolic Tribunal of the Roman Rota, is presently occupying the position of the sub-secretary and the head of the section on laity, for the Dicastery for the Laity, Family, and Life. According to her, the Church has arrived at the period in which the vocation of the laity calls for a pertinent attention. With lucid references to the past and present magisterial teachings she exposed the nature of the vocation of the laity, especially the position of ‘Lumen Gentium 31’ (contributing to the sanctification of the world). The session inspired an interesting interaction between the presenter and the seminarians.
