There are places where time seems to flow more slowly and the spirit rises, one of these places is the Borghese Gallery where a large group of us seminarians came for sightseeing. In the splendid Villa Borghese we could admire the beautiful works of the greatest protagonists of the history of art such as Caravaggio, Tiziano, Bernini, Rubens, Canova, Antonello da Messina, Perugino to name just a few.
In preparation for the visit, we invited Fr. Bernardo Estrada, professor of the New Testament at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross, who briefed us about Borghese Gallery. Fr. Bernardo, who was also an expert at the recent Synod on the Amazon, about which he told us some impressions, he is also an expert in art .
Thus, during the encounter with us our college, he introduced us to the discoveries of beautiful works such as Apollo and Daphne or the Rape of Proserpina by Bernini or paintings by Caravaggio such as Saint Jerome and Our Lady of Palafrenieri which we then saw while visiting the Gallery.
