Christmas recitation

“Awake, glad heart! Get up and sing!It is the birthday of thy King.” These lines from Henry Vaughan's poem Christ’s Nativity call us to awaken the spirit of Christmas and celebrate its joy. Much like the poem suggests, the Christmas spirit should be stirred within us, inspiring both our hearts and voices.

At Sedes Sapientiae Seminary, Christmas recitation has become a cherished tradition, where final-year students prepare a scripted program that both evokes and heralds the arrival of the Christmas festivities. This year’s recitation, held on 14 December, masterfully blended the nativity scene with an imaginative life situation of a seminarian, bringing it to life in a brilliant performance. The program was further enriched by uplifting songs, comic dialogues, and carol performances from various seminarians, adding both humor and heart to the evening.

The event also featured musical performances, creating a warm and festive atmosphere. It was a wonderful transition, marking the end of university classes and the joyful beginning of the Christmas vacation.
