In the first two months of 2024, we have received good news of ordinations of former students of Sedes on these three continents. We tell you about them below.
Francis Mwanantumba was ordained a deacon on January 6th by his ordinary, His Grace Renatus Leonard Nkwande, Archbishop of Mwanza (Tanzania). The archdiocese of Mwanza has approximately 494,970 baptized out of about 3,156,741 inhabitants. Currently, the archdiocese has 46 parishes and is located in the northern part of Tanzania, overlooking the southern shore of Lake Victoria. In this archdiocese, where Rev. Francis is located, there are 146 priests (95 secular and 51 regular). We wish Rev. Francis a fruitful and joyful pastoral ministry in serving God and others.
Pietro Duy Khoa Pham received the diaconate on January 20, 2024, in Ho Chi Minh City, the former Saigon (Vietnam), with the laying on of hands by the Bishop Bùi Công Trác, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Sài Gòn. Rev. Khoa was in this college for his priestly formation from 2018 to 2023. He completed his bachelor's degree in theology at the University of the Holy Cross, and subsequently obtained a licentiate in dogmatic theology. We entrust Rev. Khoa to our prayers so that God may accompany him in his ministry of service for the church in Vietnam and for the entire universal church.
Gersan Daniel Beltrán was ordained a priest in León (Nicaragua), a diocese that currently has less than a hundred priests to serve almost eight hundred thousand Catholic faithful. We pray fervently for Fr. Dani, so that the Lord may grant him much fruitfulness in the discharge of his priestly ministry.
