It is with deep joy and heartfelt gratitude that we celebrate the recent priestly and diaconate ordinations of our esteemed alumni. We are truly happy, privileged, and blessed to witness and share in this unfolding of God’s call in their lives.
On July 5, Rev. Deacon Solomon Elochukwu Ezekweme was ordained to the priesthood at St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Ekwulobia, Nigeria, by His Eminence Peter Ebere Cardinal Okpaleke, Bishop of Ekwulobia. This marks a profound step in his journey of service to the Church, and we rejoice with him and his community.
The month of July continued to be rich in blessings. On July 14, our dear Martin Thurackal (Melwin) was ordained a deacon at St. Joseph’s Cathedral Church, Thalassery, in India. Just five days later, on July 19, two more of our alumni—Giovanni Bosco Oumen in the Soroti Catholic Diocese (Uganda) and Chris Axel Iradukunda in the Catholic Diocese of Rutana (Burundi)—were also ordained to the diaconate, the latter by His Excellency Mons. Léonidas Nitereka, Bishop of Rutana.
On July 20, our dear Nataniel Diogo was ordained a deacon by Monsignor Filomeno do Nascimento Vieira Dias, Archbishop of Luanda, in a solemn liturgy held at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Luanda, Angola. Shortly after, on July 24, two more of our brothers—Naveen Joemon and Jithin Joseph—were ordained deacons at San Tommaso Minor Seminary in Kurichy, India, by His Grace Mar Thomas Tharayil.
The blessings continued with the ordination of Eloi Chiramel on July 27 at the Minor Seminary of Mar Andrews Thazhath in India, and of David Echevarria on August 9 in the Diocese of Escuintla, Guatemala. Each of these ordinations reflects the beautiful diversity and universality of the Church, and the unique paths of service to which our alumni are called.
Finally, on August 24, Rev. Deacon Eugenio Epomba was ordained to the priesthood in the Archdiocese of Huambo, Angola. The sacred celebration took place at the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima and was presided over by Bishop Zeferino Zeca Martins, SVD. This joyful occasion marks yet another step forward in the mission of the Church, enriched by the dedication of our alumni.
As a college, we give thanks to God for the gift of each vocation and for the privilege of having accompanied these men on their formation journey. We assure them of our continued prayers and support as they serve God’s people with love, humility, and zeal. May their ministry always be a reflection of Christ’s compassion and truth.
