There is no better way to begin a new year of formation than to entrust ourselves to Jesus and to the protection of his Mother. For this reason, in the prelatic church of Opus Dei, Santa Maria della Pace, we had the Holy Eucharist to entrust all the activities of this academic cycle of our college. Moreover, this church is a special place because the sacred remains of Saint JosemarÃa Escrivá rest there.
The Rector of the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross, Msgr. Luis Felipe Navarro, presided over the Holy Mass. During his homily, he recalled that the gifts of the Holy Spirit serve to increase our holiness and that we can sanctify ourselves through study.
After Mass, we visited the prelatic church, the crypt and other nearby chapels, as well as a gallery where some objects used by Saint JosemarÃa are kept. In this way, we were able to learn more about the life of this saint, his dreams, his desires and the legacy of his teaching on the search for holiness in ordinary life.
May Our Lady of Peace intercede for us in this new cycle of formation that we are beginning.
