“Dearest brothers, this holy mass that I preside here today, is a mass of thanksgiving. I thank God with you for the gift of the priesthood that he offered me on the 29th of July.” These were exactly the first words with which Fr. Benjamin Ng’ambi commenced his homily on the 22nd of October, during the Sunday Eucharistic celebration presided by him. With these words, Fr. Benjamin manifests his sentiments of gratitude to God for his grace throughout his journey of seminary formation towards the sacred priesthood.
Fr. Benjamin was an alumnus of our college from 2016, when he arrived as a very young boy to 2022. Within these years, he did his philosophical studies, theological studies, commenced the licentiate program in canon law also received the diaconate ordination. During his stay in our college, Fr. Benjamin was notable for his jovial and calm character. Basing his homily on the parable of the rich man and his banquet, he highlighted the nature of God’s universal call to salvation and among other things, underlined the role of seminarians and priests as servants of this universal vocation to salvation. Therefore, he encouraged seminarians to utilize properly their period of formation, so that they may in the future become well prepared servants in the vineyard of the Lord.
