Towards the end of the apostolic work in the month of August, two of our seminarians, Kingsley (Nigeria) and Martín (Peru), were sent to participate in a formative conference primarily meant for Italian seminarians. Organized by Iniziative Culturali Sacerdotali, it was an occasion that provides seminarians with the opportunity of sharing their experiences as they journey towards priesthood. It paves room for deepening of fraternity and cultural enhancement as they learn from each other’s experiences.
Within the one week experience certain ecclesiastical themes were deliberated upon. Centrally, the themes revolve around Pastoral and Missionary Conversion featuring as paper presenters, Cardinal Edoardo Menichelli (Archbishop of Ancona), His Excellency Andrea Migliavacca (Bishop of San Miniato), and His Excellency Pietro Maria Fragnelli (Bishop of Trapani). The activities were punctuated with visitations to the Bishop of Frascati, His Excellency Raffaelo Martinelli, the Basilica of St Sabina, the Catacomb of Priscilla, the Basilica of St Eugene and the General Audience of Pope Francis. Prior to departure, a Mass was concelebrated at the tomb of St Peter. Finally, the event came to an end on 26th August, 2017 with a concelebrated Holy Mass.
