200 years of Bruckner


To mark the 200th anniversary of the birth of Austrian composer and organist Anton Bruckner, the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music organised a concert, conducted by M° Walter Marzilli, on Friday 10 May. The concert took place in the Basilica of Sant’Apollinare and was attended by some students and formators from our College. M° Walter Marzilli is professor of Sacred Music at our College and also teaches at the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music, where he is choir director. He masterfully conducted and interpreted the Bruckner’s Missa solemnis WAB 29, with by the Choir of Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music, the Orchestra Sinfonica Romana, Davide Bucci at the Organ, the soloists, Maria Grazia Schiavo, Andrea Trueba, Cezary Arkadius Stoch and Federico Benetti. An stunning reconstruction of Bruckner's profound artistic and spiritual personality, which captivated a large and enthusiastic audience during the evening.
