Since last August, our college Sedes Sapientiae has been enriched with with 24 new seminarians from 17 countries of four different continents. Having overcome the challenge of Italian, accustomed to the pasta which many now appreciate, the new seminarians also began their lessons at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in October. In the meantime they have begun to discover the merits of Rome and the differences with their countries.
On 19 November we were honoured to have amongst us H.E. Mons. Jorge Carlos Patron Wong, Secretary for the Seminaries of the Congregation for the Clergy. Who like other years spices the welcoming of these new seminarians to this eternal city, the city of Successor of Peter.
His Excellency met the seminarians of the first year divided into language groups, one English-speaking, one Spanish-speaking and one Italian-speaking. During the meeting, which took place in a very familiar atmosphere, he brought his greeting and welcome expressing also the closeness of Pope Francis.
We also thank Archbishop Jorge for his paternal closeness which every year leads him to visit us on several occasions during the formative year. Assuring him of our prayers we look forward to the next meeting with joy.
