Christmas in Sedes
This year we spent a really intense Christmas at Sedes, certainly because contemplating and celebrating the mystery of God who became man for our salvation is a great joy, but also because it has been a truly intense period of meetings and activities. Actually, the celebrations began a little earlier on our calendar, in order to exchange greetings with those who left the College for pastoral activities during the holidays. We celebrated this occasion with an excellent dinner and a theatrical presentation by the students of the third year about Christmas.
Some of us who stayed, took the occasion of Christmas to visit a retirement home for elderly priests by exchanging a few words with them and performing several Christmas carols. Certainly, on Christmas Eve, participation in the Mass in Saint Peter presided by the Holy Father could not be missed. Just after Christmas, taking advantage of the suspension of academic lessons and wanting to get to know Italy better, we spent a few days visiting Florence, Siena, Lucca and Pisa with the splendid religious and artistic treasures that they hold.
Back in the College, we waited for the new year's arrival celebrating the Holy Mass to thank the past year and entrust the new one. The time of Christmas is a moment particularly dear to the young ones and so three of us, Deogratias, Patricio and Rangel, made a surprise to some young folks of the parish of San Damaso, in the Roman district of Monteverde, impersonating the Magi in a beautiful theatrical scene at the end of a catechesis in preparation for the Epiphany of the Lord. But this period is also a time for gifts and so we also received ours from the College on the day of the Epiphany, together with a nice trip on the snow, which we did a few days earlier, at Monte Terminillo which for many of us, was also the first time we had in contact with the snow.
