A Summer of Grace
Sunday 9 September was indeed a special day for our College as three ex-alumni received diaconal ordination. At 11 o’clock in the cathedral of Požega (Croatia), the local ordinary, S.E. Mons. Antun Škvorčević ordained Tomislav Dokoza and Matej Filipović as deacons in the celebration of Holy Mass. A representative of the College, led by Fr José and Fr. Randifer, participated in the celebration.
After some few hours and about a thousand kilometers away, Johann Ribette was also ordained a deacon by the laying on of hands and a said consecratory prayer by S.E. Mons. Raymond Centène, bishop of Vannes in France (video here). Fr Eduardo, our Vice Rector, participated in the celebration which took place in the cathedral church diocese of the Breton . Some ordinations also took place in the summer season; on July 3, feast of St. Thomas the Apostle, our brother Abilash Soundara was ordained a deacon from the hands of his bishop, Mar George Rajendran. Then, on July 21st, our dear Vitus Naameh was ordained deacon for the archdiocese of Tamale in Ghana by S.E. Mons. Philip Naameh. The archdiocese of Guayaquil in Ecuador also had a new deacon on August 4, where S.E. Mgr Luis Gerardo Cabrera Herrera ordained Christian Ledergerber a deacon.
Thanking the Lord for the gift of these new deacons who studied in our College, we assure them of our support and pray that they joyfully serve God and their dioceses.
