The September program was brought to a close with an enriching excursion to a medieval city, Perugia on Friday 28th September, 2018. It was a full day experience that began from the National Gallery of Umbria, a former gothic Palace (Palazzo dei Priori) constructed between 13th and 14th centuries. Another interesting monument is the Major Fountain (Fontana Maggiore) situated at the 4th November Square (Piazza IV November); a former meeting point for the ancient Etruscan and Roman civilisations. We were led through the city walls to some medieval paths, gardens and the Basilica of St. Peter at the south end of the city. Finally, we concluded the wonderful adventure at the Cathedral of St. Lawrence with an impromptu handshake with the Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Perugia, Mons. Paolo Giulietti. The experience was worthwhile and justified a good end to the September Course of the college.
